As part of a study day organised by the Norfolk Archaeological and Historical Research Group to mark the publication of A History of Norfolk by the late Chris Barringer, I shall be lecturing on the subject of ‘Monastic Archaeology in Norfolk and Beyond‘. Using examples from within East Anglia and from further afield, this lecture examines how archaeological investigations has shed light on the region’s monastic sites, including the development of monastic cloisters and precincts, and the management of monastic estates. Further details of the day and booking details can be found via the NAHRG website.
