Rock Star

My short essay about the discovery of the 700,000-year-old ‘Happisburgh Handaxe’ is included in the published catalogue for the Masterpieces: Art and East Anglia exhibition which ran at the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, UEA, from 14 September 2013 until 24 February 2014.

The Happisburgh Handaxe is something of a rock star, having come first in the countdown of artefacts presented in the first series of ITV’s Britain’s Secret Treasures.
